The Malignant Silent Killer;Corruption

of c rOne man army-Anna Hazare. This was the first thing that slipped into my mind while reading a daily’s article, recently. This single man despite his old age, stood alone supported by his adherents to compel the Indian Parliament to establish an anti-graft bill.Another “hero”,Baba Ramdev emerged in the limelight as a protagonist in the anti-graft movement, previously. These two icons emphasised on the same thing;a nation free of corruption. One thing for sure,Indians can inevitably,be ”proud” of their nation’s “achievements” as India is positioned in the top ranking of world’s worst corrupted countries’ list by a foreign wire,Transparency International. What happens in India is something ubiquitous as corruption is rife there.Although India finds itself in the headlines as one of the future economic giants in Asia apart from China, corruption is something that it cannot get rid off.

Actually, corruption lies everywhere, scattered throughout continents.Intellectuals worldwide have addressed this issue for decades, and yet, ironically unable to come up with a counter-attack formula for corruption cases.I picture corruption or graft as malicious cancer cells,”killing” a nation silently from the inside.Corruption proved to be fatal especially if the civil servants of public sector are involved in such embarrassing issues. This fragile Earth, most recently, witnessed the naked truth that throughout the globe, people started to rebel against the unworthy, corrupted governments. This scenario occurred in several nations like Syria,Egypt and Libya. Most of us are sick of these corruption issues burdening us,both directly and indirectly.I definitely bet that we are tired of certain police officers asking for bribe without shame. We are tired of certain unscrupulous “people-friendly” politicians demanding for money to help us out whenever we encounter any problem. We are also, regretfully tired of seeing civil servants in top posts ‘craving’ for money to approve private or government projects. And most fascinatingly,we have seen these sorts of issues being addressed in many movies It seems that many of us would really be glad if corruption would meet a dead end soon.

The truth is,the causes for this problem not only lies on the hands of others, but also in ourselves .Condemn corruption or any other form of it.Do not even once, for any reason, give or receive bribe.Report immediately to the respective authority if anyone tried to engage in such cases. We alone may not be able to alter the status quo,but at least we can be part of a change that might produce tangible benefits to the global community. Those, whom are caught due to such cases, might give many excuses, especially insufficient pay, that triggered them to involve in corruption, but surely,it is not a good excuse.Even some of us,whom receive high salaries receive bribes. So,what is the real reason?

I opine that, one’s pay figures should not be made as an excuse. In the end, corruption leads to lack of moral virtues and ethics.Globally, due to corruption, annually, huge pool of money are lost in the form of black money. This definitely will create an imbalance in the economy.Lastly, everyone will suffer due to economic deterioration but somehow, the filthy rich ones would absolutely save themselves from the ordeal.

In Anna Hazare’s case,he managed to compel the Indian parliament to create an anti-graft bill.Yet,it may not mark the end of corruption.More efforts need to be carried out to combat this issue. Most importantly, everything has to be initiated from us with a pure form of awareness about the danger of corruption. And to remind you, this is a message not only for India, but also to the entire planet Earth.
t only for India, but also to the entire planet Earth.

"AMERICA,OBAMA AND THE ECONOMIC ARMAGEDDON"

Seeing the name of the superpower economy in headlines, apparently is not awkward for many.Since the late 2008 subprime mortgage crisis in U.S.A,however,everything seem to be so common. It woudn't sound wrong if anyone says that now America is trying to heal itself from a big financial predicament as the ubiquity of "Uncle Sam's" financial problem is much evident. And most recently,America found itself in the headlines of mass media globally, for the incapability of its' policymakers to find a way to raise the debt limit.

Obviously,America is not left with  Hobson's choice. The solutions are there, served nicely on the table for this Congress people to choose from. One,reduce budget deficit by austerity measures or also known as,spending cuts. Two,introduce new taxes for the filthy rich groups and create a hike in the existing taxes. And the biggest problem starts here.Obama's Democratic Party voted for the second while the GOP or the Republicans casted their votes for  the former. Many gruelling and gargantuan efforts were taken by many concerned parties, yet they were futile and meaningful.Although the entire world was sceptic about the situation in America(some even claimed that  U.S could be the next Greece),yet the Obama's administration proved otherwise.Just two days before the D-day or 2nd August, the Congress reached a consensus to increase the debt limit by having more cuts in spending.

Lucky enough, they were!Yet,economists throughout the globe believe that this is not the end of America's debt problem. They still, inevitably need a crusade as a formula of counter-attack the current problem. And many financial analysts as well as these economic pundits say that the present measure chosen by U.S may not be the much anticipated measure. They opine that tax increases could establish bigger and positive implications. However, the time is still ample and America must act wise in future(besides being more prudent) to avoid from plunging into an economic blackhole!
