FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Yesterday,I taught my little cousin brother that the mighty Sun is the centre of our Solar System. He nodded silently and subsequently, asked a question that made me to ponder."What is then, the centre of the Earth?"little Sanjay asked. His question may sound simple yet for me,to furnish the exact answer would be a mind-gruelling task.

In easy words, there is no exact point for us to recognise as the centre of our planet. In the 19th century, the world looked up at Europe as the most prominent place on Earth, most notably after its Renaissance success. At that particular moment in written history, everything important came from Europe not mentioning world-class intelligentsia.

Then,a few centuries after,in the post-World War 2 period, the new giant,Uncle Sam's nation,America toppled Europe from its position and emerged as the vital place on Earth.Ever since,U.S.A had attained a good name in the global arena.Believe it or not,the emergence of this Anglo-Saxon nation altered it into a great phenomenon.Wherever you may go,you can witness many people "hailing" America as a good example.

America and its nationals value freedom of speech as the most crucial element in their lives. This was specifically proven by David Hitchcock's research some time ago, that Americans gave the highest score for freedom of speech compared to the Asians. For Americans, freedom of speech is a compulsary right for everyone and any attempts to disrupt this freedom is inevitably,a violation.

America is always seen as the leading protagonist in the freedom of speech movement. This nation, has also been urging every nation to practise this right. But at the same time, the press in America were not given the full opportunity to cover a story.Often, there are limitations to their freedom of speech. To get it straight,it is easy to preach but difficult to carry it out literally.

Actually, individuals and non-profittable organisations globally have seriously engaged in movements to compel the governments to practise freedom of speech. But,many lawmakers, internationally, deem that freedom of speech,if recognised in big scale can trigger problems in a nation. For them ,everything should have its limitations or else,we might have to face severe cicumstances.  They may have a point there.

In a nut shell, voicing out our opinions in public is not that bad after all.It is just that we should the right way to do it.
